What is this icon for?

Hi,

The icon in the screenshot somehow appeared today. I have no idea how I enabled it or what it does.

Now when I hit the spacebar to play a loop rather than starting from the beginning of the loop the playhead goes to the point on this icon.

I've searched high and low to make it go away. 

Does anyone know what it is and how I disable it?

  You have entered Transcribe Mode. You are seeing the Start position marker. 

  1. Long Press or Right-Click the Play button to reveal the Play Button Option menu.
  2. Disable Transcribe Mode.

  Transcribe Mode helps you easily work through a song phrase by phrase or note by note. 

  When you tap  Play the playhead will move and start playing from the start position. The  Skip button now moves the start position marker to the current playhead position, allowing you to work your way through the song and replay small parts over and over until you figure them out.
