Now available in Anytune on Android
Anytune is now on Google Play.
Anytune can play most Spotify songs with some limitations.
You will be able to apply time-stretching (adjust the tempo), set marks and loop sections.
The waveform will not be accurate, pitch-shifting, and analysis is not available.
Some functions will be disabled.
Spotify support is in development and subject to change.
You must have Spotify Premium to play Spotify songs in Anytune.
Songs streamed through a Spotify are protected, limiting Anytune's functionality. We are working to increase the capabilities with streamed music. To access the full power of Anytune please acquire audio files that are not DRM protected and place them physically on your device.
Songs ripped from a CD or purchased through iTunes, Amazon, Google, etc. are not protected. Move these files to your Android device and they will be available to Anytune.
You can disable and hide the Spotify tab in Anytune Settings.
Having trouble playing Spotify songs?
There are some situations where Spotify can get out of sync and stop working.
If you see "Failed to Load Song", "Spotify load failure 'track load timed out', it may be a network or Spotify server issue.
Network connectivity can effect Spotify's operation. Ensure you have a good network connection.
Verify the song plays in the Spotify app on the same device.
Spotify servers can be overloaded for short periods of time.
There may also be a bug. Your help identifying bugs and offering suggestions is appreciated. If you encounter problems playing Spotify songs please report them to us.
You may see an error notification message when a song plays, or are offered to "Try again" if the song did not play. Trying again will usually succeed.
Anytune currently supports basic Spotify Connect capabilities. You cannot control play/pause a song in Anytune from another remote Spotify instance (i.e. web version on PC).
If Anytune starts behaving strangely, becomes unresponsive, or cannot play a song:
- Play a different Spotify song first, to reconnect
- Restart Anytune (Example: Tap ◾️ and swipe Anytune up to stop)
- Sign out and back in to Spotify within Anytune
- Restart your device
If Spotify believes you are not a Spotify Premium users you may need to:
- Sign out of Spotify everywhere including on Anytune and the Spotify app
- Restart your device
If you repeatedly receive 403 errors trying to play Spotify songs.
- Sign into your Spotify account in a browser, go to Apps, and Revoke Access for Spotify for Anytune.
- Restart Anytune.
See Spotify not playing, @SpotifyStatus and Ongoing Issues board.
Having trouble with Spotify Log in?
If you are having trouble with the Spotify Log In here are some possible resolutions:
First make sure you can open the Spotify Web app:
- Does the Spotify Web app work on your device? (https://open.spotify.com/)
Clear any issues with bad tokens:
- Please open Chrome/browser on you device and Log in to accounts.spotify.com
- Go to Apps and Revoke Access for Spotify for Anytune.
- Log out
- Restart Anytune
- Try to login to Spotify in Anytune
Clear the Android System WebView cache:
- Open the Android Settings app and go to
Apps > Android System WebView - Update to latest version.
- Choose "Storage & cache" > Clear cache
- Restart Anytune
- Try to login to Spotify in Anytune
If You Can’t Find Android System WebView
On some devices (e.g., those using Chrome as the WebView provider), you may not see Android System WebView in the Play Store or app list.
In this case, ensure Google Chrome is updated and cache is cleared, as it may serve as the WebView engine.
Enable WebView
If disabled, re-enable WebView via Settings > Developer Options > WebView Implementation.
We are happy to help. In the Anytune drawer select Help and choose "Contact Us" to report a problem.
